This course prepares the students for the DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) exam of Cervantes Institute, the only official accreditation that certifies their level of Spanish with international recognition. There are six different levels from A1 to C2, at Maravillas Programas Internacionales you can prepare: A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1.
Maravillas Programas Internacionales is an examination center since 2004.
Level A2 has a special course because it is the compulsory minimum to obtain Spanish nationality. If you want to prepare for the DELE A2 exam:
The DELE is the official qualification that accredits the degree of competence and command of Spanish, awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
There are six DELE exams, as many as the levels proposed by the Council of Europe in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2, from the lowest to the highest level of language proficiency.
The tasks in each test are contextualised in the personal, public, educational and professional spheres, and their aim is to certify the degree of general linguistic competence in Spanish.
The DELE exams include the main variants of Spanish in the comprehension tests at B1 level and above, and the different variables of Spanish are also considered valid in the candidates’ tests of expression.
The Diploma de Español B1 accredits the ability of the language user to understand the main points of oral and written texts in standardised varieties of the language and which are not excessively localised, provided that they deal with familiar matters, whether related to work, study or everyday life; to cope in most situations and contexts in which these areas of use are found; and to produce simple, coherent texts on familiar topics or those of personal interest, such as the description of experiences, events, wishes, plans and aspirations or the expression of opinions.
Maravillas Programas Internacionales is a preparation centre and organiser of the DELE exams, so we can provide you with all the necessary information for your enrolment.
The preparation classes are given in two-week blocks, two hours a day in the afternoon, depending on the level, between 14:30 and 18:30.
Our teachers have extensive experience as DELE preparers and examiners.
They have a thorough knowledge of the exam structure and know how to approach the classes so that learning is fast and effective.
Our pass rate is very high, close to 90%, which is proof of the high level of preparation with which candidates take the exam.
At the end of the course, provided that all the tasks have been completed, the student will receive a certificate of achievement from Maravillas International Programmes indicating the course completed, the level reached and the number of class hours.
Before starting, all students will have to pass a written test, followed by an oral interview, to verify that the level of the chosen course is appropriate.
It is important that the student has or is very close to the level of the DELE exam they wish to sit.
If this is not the case, after the initial test at the centre, we will advise you on the most appropriate test for your level.
During the two-week course, you will learn the structure of the exam, work on each part of the test and will be continuously advised by a tutor, who will answer your questions, correct the exercises and ensure that you pass the test successfully.
We will use four models of the exams, dividing the 4 tests into two weeks.
We will cover 4 main areas: tourism, shopping, the world of work, studies and leisure.
On the first day we will provide you with a book in which you will find the material that we will work on in the classes: you will be able to practise with the texts, the auditions, the topics to develop your written expression and simulations for the oral test.
In addition, our teachers will send you additional material or extra exercises so that you can practise at home and solve any problems that have been detected.
Each day, we will focus on practising two parts of the exam:
On the first day, we will start by explaining the different parts of the exam, how long they take and how to mark them.
We will also show you examples of the answer sheets and show you how to fill them in correctly.
Then, every day, during the 2 hours of the course, we will practise reading and listening comprehension. We will look at the different types of texts and exercises designed for this part of the exam and we will listen to samples of the different audio tests which make up the exam: announcements, messages, conversations, interviews.
The second week will be dedicated to the last two exam papers.
During the classes the teacher will give us the guidelines so that our oral and written expression is in line with what the exam requires.
We will write texts at home, of the same type and length (number of words) as we will have to do in the exam.
The teacher will correct them, explain any possible mistakes and give us instructions so that we make fewer and fewer mistakes.
As for the oral test, the teacher will explain what it consists of, the tasks involved, the duration of the test and every day we will practise in class to gain confidence and eliminate any mistakes we may make.
The maximum score that can be achieved in the examination is 100 points.
For marking purposes, the different tests are grouped as follows:
Group 1:
Group 2:
There are two possible grades: “Pass” and “Fail”.
The overall grade of “Pass” is obtained if a score equal to or higher than the minimum score required for each of the groups of tests is achieved:
Within one to three months, depending on the examination, from the date of the exam, the Instituto Cervantes informs candidates of their results through the Diplomas in Spanish portal http://diplomas.cervantes.es/informacion/consulta_notas.html, by means of an individual notification of marks, a document of an informative nature (it has no accreditation value).
