Maravillas International Programmes has been the leading Spanish language school on the Costa del Sol for more than 45 years. We are accredited by the CERVANTES INSTITUTE and we are OFFICIAL EXAMINATION CENTRE for testing DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) and CCSE (test of Constitutional and Sociocultural Knowledge of Spain in order to obtain Spanish nationality).
All our teachers are native speakers and are highly qualified at the best universities in Andalusia. They frequently participate in didactic courses and congresses related to ELE from the Instituto Cervantes and other organisations. The vast majority of our teachers are also official DELE examiners.
Mission
Maravillas International Programmes is guided by the mission to offer a comprehensive educational experience that combines the teaching of Spanish with cultural immersion, in a welcoming and dynamic environment. Its aim is to prepare students to communicate effectively in Spanish and to enjoy Spanish culture, fostering intercultural understanding among its students.
Maravillas has been dedicated to this educational mission, aimed at foreign students, for several decades. Initially, our students were adults, both residents and from other countries. From 1992, we opened a line dedicated to programmes for young people, between 13 and 17 years old, with the formula “all inclusive”, operating in spring (4 weeks) and summer (12 weeks). operating in spring (4 weeks) and summer (12 weeks).
Subsequently, programmes were initiated to “Closed Groups” and, finally “Academic Year”. These last three programmes define and differentiate Maravillas from other schools.
The VISION that we once had by focusing on young people and closed groups, has been transformed into our MISSION and has been a trend-setter for other centres.
Vision
The school has the vision of consolidating itself as a reference in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) and in international education, being recognised for its educational quality and its positive impact on the local community. It aspires to maintain and consolidate its leadership as a reference school in the Málaga Costa del Sol region.
We have always maintained the idea of keeping only one centre open, despite the insistence of some clients (agencies) that we open in other cities. This means that for years we have maintained and continue to maintain an artisanal, sustainable and controllable work, in all aspects: teaching, excursions, meals, accommodation, activities, etc. Our objectives for the future are:
Consolidate clients (agencies and educational centres), both individuals and groups, while selecting those who bring us the most.
To fill the periods of low occupancy that we maintain throughout the course.
Increase our presence in the US/Canada markets while recovering markets such as Germany and the Nordic countries.
Ultimately, we are not aiming to have more students at the same time, but to keep that ideal number, between 180 and 200, for as many weeks as possible.
In order to achieve the above, we must take care at all times of the quality of each and every one of the services offered, it being essential that all the actors involved (teachers, host families, monitors, kitchen and cleaning staff, etc.) share the same objectives and procedures while enjoying rewarding working conditions.

Our centre is the founder of the EAEA (Asociación de Escuelas de Español en Andalucía) and is recognised by national and international organisations such as FEDELE (Spanish Federation of Associations of Spanish Schools for Foreigners), ELITE (European Federation of National Associations for the Teaching of Mother Tongues to Foreigners) and the Swedish government for the CSN (HOGSKOLENVERKET).

Yes, we have been an official examination centre since 2014. We offer specialised two-week courses before the exam for levels A1, A2, B1, B2, and C1.
We have special courses for Seniors (+50) on selected dates. These programmes allow you to share learning and a wide variety of cultural and social activities with people your own age.

Historically, they shared origins and direction, forming part of the same educational group called Colegio Maravillas. However, in 2018, they separated into independent companies.
