Description

This course prepares students for the examination DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) of the Cervantes Institute, The only official accreditation that certifies your level of Spanish with international recognition. There are six different levels from A1 to C2, in Maravillas International Programmes you can prepare: A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1. Maravillas has been an examination centre since 2014.

The A2 level has a special course because it is the minimum required to obtain Spanish nationality. If you want to prepare for the DELE A2 exam click here.

Like official examination centre from Cervantes Institute, students can choose our school to take the DELE exam. Examination fees vary according to the desired level.

DELE: What is it?

The DELE is the official title which accredits the degree of competence and command of Spanish, awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training.
There are six DELE exams, as many as the number of levels proposed by the Council of Europe in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2, from the lowest to the highest level of language proficiency.

Can I prepare for DELE exams at school?

Yes, you can take the DELE preparation in the afternoon as a supplement to your 20 morning lessons (20+10 weekly). The course lasts 2 weeks for levels A1 to C1.

Are the 10 extra DELE lessons one-on-one?

No, they are group lessons specifically focused on exam techniques.

When are the 10 extra DELE preparation lessons taught?

These lessons take place in the afternoon, after your morning intensive course. It is the 20+10 model.

When do the DELE preparation courses start?

These courses take place 2 weeks before the exam and are available in the months of February, April, May, September, October, and November.

What does the DELE preparation course offer?

It combines the intensive course in the mornings with 10 specific classes in the afternoon. It lasts 2 weeks and prepares you to obtain the official certificate from the Instituto Cervantes.

Can I take the exam at the same school?

Yes, Colegio Maravillas has been an official examination center since 2014, so you can prepare and take the exam in the same place.

Does the course price include the official exam fee?

No, the course price covers the academic preparation and teaching materials. The exam fee is set annually by the Instituto Cervantes and must be paid separately when registering for the official test.

Can I prepare for any DELE level at Maravillas?

At our school in Benalmádena, we specifically prepare for levels A1, B1, B2, and C1. For the A2 level, we have a special course as it is the minimum requirement for obtaining Spanish citizenship.

Is it mandatory to take the morning intensive course to prepare for the DELE?

Our standard preparation program is the 20+10 (general Spanish in the mornings + exam techniques in the afternoons). This combination is the most effective because it reinforces your linguistic foundation in the morning and specifically trains you for the exam tasks in the afternoon.

Where will I live during my stay at school?

We offer accommodation in local host families and shared apartments in the city of Benalmádena. You can choose the option that best suits your in-person stay with us.

Do I have to buy books before arriving in Benalmádena?

We provide you with the necessary teaching materials for your in-person classes at our centre in Benalmádena.

What is the maximum number of pupils per class?

Our in-person groups in Benalmádena have a maximum of 10 students to guarantee personalised attention. This encourages active participation in the classroom and intensive learning from Monday to Friday in the city.

Where will I live during my stay at school?

We offer various options in the city of Benalmádena for your experience, you can choose to stay with local families or in shared apartments.

Are the accommodations near the school?

Yes, we select accommodation that has good transport links to our school in Benalmádena.

What services are included in the accommodation?

Depending on the option chosen in Benalmádena, you'll have services such as Wi-Fi and access to communal areas included. For families, you can opt for half board or full board to focus exclusively on your intensive morning course.

Do I need a car to get around Benalmádena during the term?

It's not necessary. The school and accommodation are very well connected. Benalmádena is a city with an excellent bus and train network.

If my level is very advanced, will I have suitable material?

Of course. In our face-to-face classes, we cover up to the C1 level. Groups of maximum 10 students allow the teacher to adapt the intensive content to the specific needs of adults with higher levels.

Will there be many people from my own country at the school?

Our school in Benalmádena welcomes students from all over the world, mainly French, Japanese, American and German.

Are there classes on weekends?

No, in-person classes are strictly Monday to Friday.

How do you pay for teaching materials?

Books and materials are usually included.

What transport do you recommend from the airport?

The commuter train is the quickest and most direct option to Benalmádena.

How far is the school from the beach?

Maravillas Language School is located in the centre (Arroyo de la Miel), about a 15-minute walk from the beach.

If I choose the aparthotel, is it close to the school?

Yes, all our accommodation options (the Aparthotel and host families) are within walking distance or a very short public transport journey.

What is the minimum age to participate in the adult courses?

The minimum age is 18 years.
